Manchester Giants coach Danny Byrne was able to take some positives away from Sunday’s defeat against Sheffield ahead of Friday’s big game away at Leeds.

The bottom two sides of the BBL go head to head in Yorkshire once again as the Giants look to avenge their defeat to Force last month, which is Leeds’ only win of the season so far.

Two days after that game, the Giants got their only win of the season on the board so far – an impressive win away at Cheshire.

Byrne said: “There was more positives from the Sheffield game than in the whole of the last three games. We worked hard during the week, focusing on our defensive intensity and principles. We stressed that individual play isn’t going to win us the game, we can only win it together.

“Leeds have strengthened, brought four new players in and the coach there is doing a really good job. They’re fighting for everything, they’re in a position that we’re win.

“All we can do is work on our game plan, keep our defensive intensity, stress its a team game, stick to our principles, be just as aggressive as we were against Sheffield and who knows, hopefully we can come away with our second win.”

After the trip to Leeds this Friday, the Giants return home for two home games over the festive period.

The first sees London Lions come to the Trafford Sportsdome on Sunday December 17 for a do-or-die BBL Trophy tie, and tickets are priced at £10 for adults and just £1 for kids. CLICK HERE

Then between Christmas and New Year, on Friday December 29, a sell-out crowd is expected when local rivals Cheshire Phoenix come to town. Buying tickets ONLINE HERE in advance is strongly recommended as we are expecting very few, if any, tickets to be remaining on match day.
