Three players earned season debuts this week as several teams enjoyed their first action of 2019.
Kenny Carpenter (Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks)
A huge game-saving putback at the buzzer to force overtime in the Rocks’ home win was part of a first double-double for Carpenter. The rookie guard put up 21 points along with 11 boards to help his side outlast Cheshire Phoenix for an important league win.
Torry Butler (Manchester Giants)
Butler secured his second spot in the lineup this season after an impressive 30-point haul in the win away at Surrey Scorchers. The American shot 10 of 12 from inside the arc with 24 points coming in the first half to give his side a strong platform for victory.
Pierre Hampton (Leicester Riders)
The second different Riders player to feature this season after Hampton starred in the road win against DBL Sharks Sheffield. The Swedish forward scored a season-high 22 points after going 8 out of 10 from inside the arc, whilst adding four boards and three assists.
Will Neighbour (London City Royals)
A debut appearance for Neighbour after a clinical shooting display propelled the Royals to another home win. The 6’10” forward netted 22 points on 9 of 11 shooting along with seven rebounds and three assists against Manchester Giants.
Brandon Peel (London Lions)
Another appearance for the Lions forward after a strong all-round display in the win over Bristol Flyers to extend the lead at the top. Peel posted 19 points on 70% shooting with seven rebounds, two steals and a block to earn his fifth appearance this season.
