The Giants’ BBL Cup run came to a halt in Glasgow with a 95-81 semi-final second-leg defeat to the Rocks.
Already eight points down from the opening game last month, Danny Byrne’s men had an uphill battle.
And a slow start and some clinical basketball from the hosts, made it even harder as the Rocks ran away with the game to set up a final meeting with London Lions in Birmingham thanks to a 180-158 aggregate victory.
The Giants were 47-35 down at the half in Glasgow and could not mount a recovery after the the break.
We had a good run, and it’s been a lot of fun. Unfortunately it isn’t our time this season. Thank you to the @McrGiants fans, from the bottom of my heart, who made the long journey and. We will bounce back #beeGIANT🐝🏀

Kieron Achara was the Rocks’ leader with 22 points while the Giants shared around their scoring with Willie Clayton 18, Mike McCall 15, Vlatko Granic 15, James Jones 15, Callum Jones 10, Ingus Bankevics 7 and Torry Butler 5 making up their total.
The Giants still have plenty to play for with their Friday-night win over Cheshire consolidating their Play-off position and a BBL Trophy quarter-final with Newcastle Eagles to come next Friday.
