The Giants held their end-of-season awards night at Chorlton Golf Club.

Fans were asked to vote for the Player of the Year and – in association with Brand161 – their Defensive Player of the Year.

American point guard Mike McCall Jnr (below) was awarded the Player of the Year honour.

And forward and countryman Willie Clayton (below) picked up the prize as Defensive Player of the Year. He was also presented with a framed photograph to mark breaking the BBL record highest average rebounds per game in a single season.

Giants youngster Adam Oldham was selected as Team Player of the Year by coach Danny Byrne.

The Howarth family – Linda, Terry, Vicky and Connor – were named as Volunteers of the Year, while Josh Buckley-Ambler was named as Young Volunteer of the Year.

Giants CEO John Dwan said: “I’d like to congratulate our winners and thanks everyone – players, coaches, staff and volunteers – for their efforts this season.

“We didn’t quite make our target of reaching the play-offs but we have had our best season since returning to the BBL seven years ago and lots of people have made huge contributions to that.

“Enjoy the summer break.”
