Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club have become partners of Manchester Giants ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 18-hole course, situated four miles south of Manchester city centre, boasts a historic 13th century club house in Barlow Hall, and hosts functions such as weddings, parties and funeral teas.

New American forward Willie Clayton was on hand to seal the deal earlier this month with club captain Mike Lynch and resident professional David Mackinnon.

The deal will see the golf club’s branding visible on Giants match days, visits from golf club members and also a surprise twist to the half-time chuck-a-duck.

Giants Business Manager, James Gordon, said: “The golf club is steeped in heritage and it’s a fascinating opportunity to link two sports that aren’t necessarily that closely aligned.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the guys at Giants games, helping them to spread the word about their club and the opportunities that they have, particularly for younger members, as well as of course kickstarting our annual Golf Day.”

Garry Steed, Marketing Director at Chorlton-cum-Hardy golf club, said: “Our golf club, with its challenging course and friendly, informal atmosphere is an ideal partner and supporter for Manchester Giants and we look forward to promoting both our sports to a wider audience, to welcoming Giants fans to our club and to hosting their golf day next year and for years to come. Good luck to the Giants for the coming season!”

A Giants golf day will be held at Chorlton-cum-Hardy in the New Year for fans, friends and sponsors of the Giants alike.
