James Jones says Manchester Giants will work hard this week ahead of Sunday’s visit of Surrey Scorchers at the Trafford Sportsdome.
The Giants went down 86-92 to London City Royals in their first home game of the season despite a superb second half fightback.
Jones lit up the Sportsdome with two brilliant three-pointers as the Giants came from 13 points down at half time to lead in the final quarter, only for foul trouble to help the Royals snatch it late on.
After the game, Jones said: “It was frustrating to lose the game.
“Credit to London, they came here and played hard, but we’re leaving the game feeling we didn’t put our best form out there.
“We had a really good win in Sheffield last week and we had a good week of practice and for whatever reason, we didn’t really give it our best efforts tonight and it’s back to the drawing board ready for next week.
“London have some really good players and they’ve started the league well, you can’t go any better than winning three out of three, so credit to them.
“But there’s a bit of a sour taste from us and we will work hard this week to put it right.”
