Last weekend the Junior Manchester Giants bid farewell to U18s player Stanley Njekwe as he flew to America to join Coach Mergin Sina and his team at Gill St Bernard's in New Jersey.

Stanley's scholarship gives him the chance to compete in the Somerset County and Skyline Conferences in New Jersey and he had this to say about the move:

"I have played under Coach Jordi at the Giants since before I could dribble a ball properly. Through the Irish U18 team (which Coach connected me to) I got the opportunity to be put forward for the scholarship to Gill St Bernard's High School, where I currently am. In my first week at the school so far, I’ve been welcomed and I’m getting introduced to the new systems well."
