Giants point guard Mike McCall Jr has been named in the BBL All Star 5 following his performance in the win at Cheshire.
A blistering start which included four consecutive successful three-pointers helped secure a BBL Cup semi-final place.
McCall has been named on the bench in the team of the week several times this season but now makes the full selection for the first time.
This week’s lineup features four players making their season debut with one of the strongest benches of the season after a busy weekend of action.
Mike McCall (Manchester Giants)
McCall makes his first appearance in the lineup after helping lead the Giants into the Semi-Finals of the BBL Cup. The American started 4 of 4 from 3-point range in the first quarter and went on to finish with 19 points along with seven assists with no turnovers in a nail-biting North-West derby victory.
Jordan Spencer (London Lions)
An impressive all-round display in the Cup secured a first starting spot for the Lions’ academy product. Spencer netted a game-high 26 points, including eight straight in a pivotal fourth quarter spell, whilst adding seven boards and five assists in the 99-89 home success.
Kyle Williams (Esh Group Eagles Newcastle)
One of three Williams’ on the Eagles roster, the rookie out of Norfolk State had somewhat of a breakout weekend starting with a career-high 26 points in a league win at Sport Central. Williams then added 21 points off the bench to aid Newcastle’s cup triumph away at Leicester, 24 hours later.
Kieron Achara (Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks)
Having announced his international retirement in the week, Achara proved he still has more to give and came up with clutch plays in the Cup victory in Plymouth before posting 11 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks to help the Rocks to their their third league win of the season.
Victor Moses (Esh Group Eagles Newcastle)
A second straight appearance for Moses and the first player to make the lineup on four occasions this season. The American forward starred in the Cup win against Leicester Riders with 28 points including 12 of 13 shooting from inside the arc along with seven rebounds and two assists.
