Manchester Giants’ young basketball and netball players were in attendance at the launch of the, “Our Pass” travel pass for 16-18 year olds in Greater Manchester.

The pass will give free bus travel to 16-18 year olds, opening up opportunities in education, work, volunteering and sport that were perhaps out of reach, especially those from poorer backgrounds.

Giants CEO John Dwan was at the launch, “The Our Pass scheme is a fantastic opportunity for our young community Basketball, Netball and Wheelchair basketball teams – the cost of participating in sport is one of the big barriers to entry that we are always looking to remove, and this initiative from the GM Mayor is going to go remove one of the biggest costs for young people.”

GM Mayor Andy Burnham even took a few moments to have his photo taken with some our our young basketballers and netballers!
