Manchester Giants' calendar year concludes this week with back-to-back away games at neighbours Cheshire Phoenix then Sheffield Sharks.

The Giants will be keen to end a three-game winless run and start looking up the British Basketball standings before the turn of the year.

Two difficult assignments beckon, however, with both Cheshire Phoenix and the Sharks flying high at the right end of the division.

Current form

Since a resounding 103-80 victory over Bristol Flyers on December 14, the Giants have endured a difficult run of results.

Defeats to London Lions and Leicester Riders were compounded by a heavy loss to Caledonia Gladiators on Boxing Day, leaving the Giants with a record of 6-15 this season.

Next up, they will face a Cheshire side looking to secure a hat-trick of wins against Coach Semonian's side during the 2023/24 campaign.

That will be followed by a trip to a Sheffield outfit that have lost three of their last four matches and also play on the evening of December 30 - less than 24 hours before locking horns with the Giants.
