Preview: Leicester Riders vs Manchester Giants

Manchester Giants will continue their British Basketball League Trophy campaign tomorrow as they travel to the East Midlands to do battle with Leicester Riders.

It’s an important fixture for the Giants who fell to a 92-78 defeat away at Newcastle Eagles in their opening fixture of the competition.

The two sides last met in the final fixture before Christmas, with the Riders coming out on top in an 86-73 win at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Current form

Tomorrow will be the second outing in the British Basketball League Trophy for the Giants following their loss at the Vertu Motors Arena last Friday evening.

It’s a must-win game for Coach Semonian’s men - with a limited number of games in the competition and only two teams progressing through to the finals, a victory at a tough venue tomorrow could get them back on track, setting them in good stead ahead of back-to-back home ties this weekend.

The Riders on the other hand have picked up a win and a loss in their opening two fixtures, defeating Bristol Flyers 95-74 on Friday before falling to an 89-74 defeat to London Lions two days later.

The two teams have met three times so far this season, with the Riders taking four points from a possible six.
