Preview: London Lions vs Manchester Giants & Giants Women host Nottingham

Manchester Giants face another tough assignment this Sunday as they go in search of their first four-point weekend of the British Basketball League season at London Lions.

Top-of-the-table London have already defeated the Giants once at the Copper Box Arena this season, but the most recent encounter between the two teams was a much closer affair as the league-leading Lions won 92-84 on November 19.

Back in Manchester, Marg Jones' Giants Women will take to home court for the third successive weekend, facing Nottingham Wildcats as they look to round off the calendar year with a morale-boosting win.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.

Thursday night was a memorable one for the Giants, who blew away Bristol Flyers with an emphatic 103-80 win on home soil.

That was the Giants' 6th win of the season, and their hopes of climbing the standings will be put to the test on Sunday as they prepare for arguably the most difficult away day of the campaign.

They come up against a Lions side that extended their lead at the top of the table with victory over nearest challengers Cheshire Phoenix on Friday night.

Their advantage now stands at 12 points, with 18 wins to show from their 21 matches in the British Basketball League so far in 2023/24.
