Preview: Newcastle Eagles vs Manchester Giants

Manchester Giants are back on the road on Friday as they make the journey to the North East to face Newcastle Eagles in the British Basketball League.
The Giants will be eager to try and find their form following their recent back-to-back defeats at the hands of Cheshire Phoenix and Sheffield Sharks, with Coach Semonian urging his side to be more clinical in their attacks.
They will meet the Eagles for the first time this season, and it will prove to be an intriguing encounter as both teams go in search of a much-needed two points.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
Current form
Last Thursday’s derby defeat to Cheshire Phoenix and Saturday’s loss away at Sheffield Sharks leaves the Giants without a win since October 14, with four points to their name at this stage of the campaign.
Sitting just two points ahead, the Eagles will be hoping for a change of fortunes following three successive league defeats, however, they will be boosted by their midweek victory over Valmiera Glass VIA in the ENBL.
Regardless of the position they find themselves in, the Giants will be encouraged by their recent head-to-head record against the Eagles, winning all five of their encounters last season.
